Choosing

Where should I start?

Four common starting points, in plain words.

The fireplace is used every winter

Start with a sweep. Soot and creosote build up with every fire, and a clean flue draws better.

You are buying or selling a house

Ask for a chimney inspection. It tells you what the flue looks like before anyone signs.

You see water stains, loose brick or crumbling mortar

Ask for a chimney repair visit. Water finds every gap, and a small one is easier to fix than a big one.

The gas fireplace will not light

Call about gas fireplace repair. Describe what it does when you press the switch.

Questions

Price questions

Plain answers about how we price.

What does "starting at" mean, and is that the price I will pay?

It is where the price for that job begins, on a standard chimney that is easy to reach. Taller chimneys, steep roofs and extra work add to it, and we talk it through with you.

What changes the price of a chimney visit?

Four things move it: how tall the chimney is and how we reach the top, the type of flue, the condition inside, and what we find along the way. A short, clean chimney costs less than a tall, sooty one.

Which jobs are priced after you see them?

Gas fireplace service, dryer vent cleaning, animal removal and masonry. Each depends on the unit, the vent run or the brick, so we look first and then give you a number.

How do I get a price for my chimney?

Call (651) 348-4294 and tell us the height and flue type, and we will say which price applies. Prefer to write? Send the short form and we call you back to agree a time.

How soon can you come once I decide?

We book appointments in the same week, with evenings and weekends available.

Will you add repairs to the bill that I did not ask for?

No. You see what we found first, with a camera photo when one is used, and only work you agree to goes on the bill.

Know the job? Name it and we will price it.

Call and tell us the height and flue type. We will say what the work involves and what it costs.
